After that things like the first paragraph, h2, h3 are quite important. As far as I know, lists are of no more importance than body text. I hope this helps.

The most important part of your post is the heading, Ramiro, this the h1 and the title of the page. But then I found out that it's very important to write properly all the way.
So we need to use those h1, h2, h3, lists and so on.

isPermaLink="false">http://robcubbon.com/?p=460#comment-101446

Hi <strong>Natalie</strong>, good question; easy answer. Imagine a clock face because it goes: top; right; bottom; left. So, when the image is on the right hand side of the text there needs to be a bit of margin to the left of it so the text doesn't run right up to it.
Just to confuse you it's possible to have 1, 2 or 3 numbers:
margin: 10px; = 10px top, right, bottom, left
margin: 10px 20px; = 10px top and bottom, 20px left and right
margin: 10px 20px 30px; = 10px top, 20px left and right, 30px bottom.
Hope this helps.
Actually the WordPress handling of images in it's WYSIWYG editor has gotten much better since this was written.

Hi Natalie, good question; easy answer. Re your tip about inserting graphics... float: right; margin: 0px 0px 0px 10px;
Please can you explain to a newbie what each of the four numbers mean, and why only the last is 10px. How does this translate into what is visual.
I know that 10px is the size of spacing, but in what order is that defined, etc etc.
Sorry if this is a dumb question.

Hi Rob, thanks for a great post. Hello <strong>Andrew</strong>, actually I'm writing this series with some of my clients in mind so when they ask me a question I can simply refer them to a blog post! Also, I've got news for you, you can still set h3 and h4 headings in the toolbar. In the visual mode, click on the kitchen sink and you will see a dropdown with "Heading 3" and "Heading 4". I've only just seen that! Not sure if I'm gonna use it. Interesting to hear about the landing pages you're making for specific clients. I can't do that as I list my pages in my sidebar globally. Something to think about.
Hello <strong>Andrew</strong>, you are right. Basic points about breaking up text and SEO here can be referred to different types of blogs, even different types of web publishing!

Hello Paul, it was a really good post and I like your blog.

Hello Andrew, actually I’m writing this series with some of my clients in mind so when they ask me a question I can simply refer them to a blog post! Also, I’ve got news for you, you can still set h3 and h4 headings in the toolbar. In the visual mode, click on the kitchen sink and you will see a dropdown with “Heading 3″ and “Heading 4″. I’ve only just seen that! Not sure if I’m gonna use it. Interesting to hear about the landing pages you’re making for specific clients. I can’t do that as I list my pages in my sidebar globally. Something to think about.

Hello Andrew, you are right. Basic points about breaking up text and SEO here can be referred to different types of blogs, even different types of web publishing!

By: Andrew

<guid

I knew about everything you wrote, but it's great to recap and read about it all in one place. It's a great installment in the series that I would refer anyone to who wants to learn wordpress.
I have a client at the moment who wants a WP blog setting up. Once it's finished, I'll point the client to this series, as it has everything a begginer needs to know, great stuff :)
------------------
I'm sure WP 2.6 had a section for H3 and H4 tags, etc..? I'm forever manually typing H3 tags in, but it would be great if the option was available in the tool bar.
On the subject of pages, I often make use of them as Doorway-type pages. Recently, a Tesco opened in my town, so I created a Page about how it could bring in more local business...a "I will design for your needs, signage, logos, etc" kind of page. It's great to have the separation between posts and pages, as I wouldn't want that kind of info in my RSS feed or appearing on my front page, lol.

Great article Rob. Yes, I only recently found out about the breaking up of text rule. If you look at some of my old posts in this blog they are a solid block of text that hits you like a brick! It really is good advice though. More people will read your articles if the text looks more interesting.
I haven’t heard of the “photodropper” plugin for WordPress. Will give it a look. Thanks again!
Thank you, <strong>Coo</strong>, yes, I use HeadSpace but, as you say, harder to set up that All-In-One. Both good plugins. <a href="http://robcubbon.com/how-to-market-yourself-5-how-to-optimize-your-wordpress-site-for-search-engines/" rel="nofollow">More about SEO and WordPress here</a>.

Hello Neil, thank you for your comment. It will help you set up all the SEO elements on your site. I actually prefer Headspace, but it's a little less user friendly. Thanks for the great post.

This is a great tutorial. I like your ideas on SEO. I know that a lot of people are using All-In-One SEO pluggin.
